Celebrating Kenya’s 62nd Jamhuri Day in Iran: A Day of Unity and Progress
On December 12, 2025, H.E. Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Jonah Mwangi, Kenya’s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran led the Kenyan community and an array of guests to a reception to commemorate Kenya’s 62nd Jamhuri Day. The event, held at the Parsian Esteghlal International Hotel, Tehran showcased the Kenyan culture, cohesion amongst members of the diaspora, and the cordial relationship between Kenya and Iran, in addition to other international partners.
In his keynote speech, the Ambassador highlighted the epic path to Kenya’s independence and the subsequent achievements, in diverse national and diplomatic pursuits. Similarly, he highlighted the cornerstones of the bilateral relations with Iran, guided by the various instruments signed between the two countries. On his part, the Chief Guest, Dr. Houman Fathi, the Deputy Mister for Commercial Development in the Ministry of Agriculture Jahad, echoed Iran’s desire to forge even closer strategic ties with Kenya into the future.
