MEETING WITH THE MD OF JAHAN GOLCHIN TALAEI TEA COMPANY

On 9th August, 2023- His Excellency Amb. Joshua I. Gatimu, EBS met with Mr. Haji Karimlou, Managing Director of Jahan Tea (Golchin Talaei), a leading importer of Kenyan tea to Iran with importation of almost 5,000 metric tons of tea every year. Both discussed on the recent visit to Kenya by President Raisi and how it has improved Kenya-Iran business relations.

The meeting identified bottlenecks and how the businessman can increase his purchase this year. Mr. Karimlou informed the Embassy that he is ready to place an order for 1,000 metric tons this month and that the Embassy should assist him in addressing some few concerns with the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA).
